Premier T20: Penzance beat Wadebridge by barest of all margins to win trophy
Penzance defeated holders Wadebridge on the final ball to clinch the Premier T20 Kernow Crash in dramatic circumstances on Sunday.
After Wadebridge saw off Hayle by 28 runs and Penzance defeated Redruth by six wickets in the semi-finals at Grampound Road, the Premier Division’s two title challengers met in the showpiece match, with Penzance triumphing by four wickets to clinch the trophy by the barest of all margins.
🏏 Semi-final 1 — Wadebridge (156-6) beat Hayle (128) by 28 runs
1️⃣ James Turpin opened with 58 off 43 balls with fellow opener Matthew Robins supporting with 23 as Waderbidge posted 156-6, while Max Jenkin took four wickets for the Premier Division’s bottom side Hayle.
2️⃣ Sam Mycock got Hayle’s innings off to a steady start with 52 from 34 balls, but only Tom Cummins (19) could add more than ten as Wadebridge, led by Matthew Lawrence (4-10), dismissed their opponents with one ball to spare.

🏏 Semi-final 2 — Penzance (92-4) beat Redruth (91-9) by six wickets
1️⃣ Sumiran Amonkar’s opening knock of 41 was as good as it got for Redruth, who added just 50 runs elsewhere as they were skittled out for 91, with Jonathan Ludlam taking four wickets at a cost of 16 runs for Penzance.
2️⃣ Penzance required just 12 overs to get the job done in the reply, with Ben Seabrook plundering 56 off 32 balls — including 11 boundaries — as inaugural champions Penzance booked their place in the final.

🏏 Final — Penzance (185-6) beat Wadebridge (181-7) by four wickets
1️⃣ A superb opening stand of 120 for the first wicket by James Turpin (68) and Matthew Robins (81*) got Wadebridge off to a fine start, but only 61 runs followed that wicket as the current Premier Division leaders reached 181-7.
2️⃣ After hitting 56 in the semi-final, Ben Seabrook plundered 90 off 52 balls — including ten sixes — as Penzance took the final right down to the final ball of the match. With the scores level, Jonathan Ludlam (4*) hit his only four runs of the day to clinch the trophy in remarkable circumstances.
